Home-grown smartphone manufacturer Micromax has announced that it has sold 2 million units of Bharat 2 smartphones since its launch on April 4. The 4G VoLTE enabled Bharat 2 smartphone costs Rs 3,499 and can be bought via offline and online channels. The company had previously also announced that it sold 5 lakh smartphones in 50 days of its launch. The company is also working on expanding the Bharat-Series with 3 new smartphones- Bharat-2 plus, Bharat-3 and Bharat-4, which will all be available in the offline retail stores within the next fortnight.” There are more than 400 million feature phone users who are waiting to move to smartphones that give the experience without straining their budgets. The exception acceptance of Bharat-2 is a testimony of our vision and also goes to prove that there is a huge appetite for budget VoLTE smartphones amongst the Indian telecom subscriber. The smartphone sports a 4-inch touch screen display with a 480X800 pixels of resolution. The smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Speadtrum SC9832 processor paired with 512MB RAM. The phone packs in 4GB of internal storage that’s expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.In terms of photography, the phone features a 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. The dual SIM Micromax Bharat 2 runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 1300mAh non removable battery. The connectivity options include- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G , and GPS.advertisementThough the specs of the phone may not sound much appealing to the buyers, but Micromax Bharat 2 remains one of the cheapest offerings to come with 4G VoLTE support and along with WiFi and GPS functionalities. The phone could give a tough fight to the yet-to-be shipped Reliance Jio’s JioPhone and the Idea’s feature phone which is in the pipeline.
