first_imgDorothy ZoglmannDorothy Guthrie Zoglmann passed peacefully on June 28, 2020, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas Texas at the age of 91.She was born the daughter of William Guthrie and Gladys (Clewell) Guthrie on October 5, 1928, in Belle Plaine Kansas. On September 6, 1948, she and Herman G. Zoglmann were united in marriage at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Wellington. Herman died October 14, 2002, just after celebrating 54 years of marriage to Dorothy. She lived most of her life in Wellington, moving to Dallas, Texas after Herman’s death to be near family.Dorothy was a wonderful mother and a successful small business owner. She founded and co-owned The Fashion clothing business located on Main in Wellington from 1967 to 1987 before retiring.A devout Catholic, after retirement she volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital as a Pink Lady, as well as volunteering at St. Anthony/St. Rose thrift shop. Dorothy will be remembered for giving of her time generously for both those in need and for her family and friends.Dorothy or “Dot” as she was known, was the consummate hostess for friends and family. She will always be known for her class, her sense of style and her love of being with her family. She was also an avid reader and was always quick to share a good book or favorite author.Her parents, brothers Ken and Lee Guthrie and sister Barbara Guthrie/McCartney precede her in death.Survivors are daughter, Margo Bertrand, Dallas, Texas; sons Myron Zoglmann (Denise), Parker, Colorado; and Steve Zoglmann (Kelly), Dallas Texas; along with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.Cremation has already taken place and due to COVID-19, a memorial mass will be planned at a later date.
